Blue Whale: World's Biggest Creature in Solid Gold

We need a reminder now and then that there are still a few last lonely ones out there, the remnants of an almost extinct species, the largest animal still around. They are profoundly beautiful.

These pendants are solid 14K gold, and are so marked. The rising whale above weighs .38 troy ounces. The diving whale at right is adapted from the same wax carving, but the balance point has been moved and the body reshaped. It weighs .45 troy ounces. Each is two inches long. Each has a double jump ring so it hangs with the fins held away from the wearer making it a comfortable pendant, even though it is unusually heavy one.
