Ancient Gold Slide Chain Still Works Fine

This unusually well made chain must be over a hundred years old. We've had it for thirty of those. It's gold, and is marked 14K. It weighs .934 troy ounces. It is an eighth of an inch in diameter and forty-two inches long! There are six tiny pearls on the slide. (We know, we know. The picture only has five pearls. But we saw one missing and fixed it after we took the picture.) In spite of its age, it shows little wear and is in excellent condition.

It would make an excellent watch chain for the Old, Ornate Elgin Pocket Watch in the Watch Collection.
