Muttonfat Jade, Silver Mesh, and Cloisonee Bracelet

We've had this one about thirty years, and have always admired the way the cloisonee works to bring the silver mesh and jade together. The centerpiece muttonfat butterfly here is clearly an old button: it is carved in the round, has the back finished, and the telltale holes there. The workmanship and motifs indicate that the bracelet was made in the Orient. It is old, probably silver, probably not fine silver.

There are no marks. The bracelet fits a size 7 or 8 wrist. It weighs 1.9 regular ounces.

On the arm, this is a very striking piece. When you wear it, you don't need much other jewelry....
