This is one of three pieces Arley bought back in the Seventies from an offering that outshone anything we had seen before. It measures about one and three quarters by three quarters by one half an inch thick, and weighs .255 ounces.

The back of the carving is not Hydra at all, but is deeply carved with at least a squirrel and an Imperial Bat, and perhaps other things. At key locations, there are holes so the piece can be hung from a cord or jump ring and chain.
This piece is old carved natural jadeite.
