Iridescent "Blue Blight" Pearl Choker

This old choker is two strands sixteen and a half inches long (including the clasp). The clasp is deeply cut with beatiful engraving and is marked "Silver". One side of the clasp slides neatly into the other, and there is a safety lock.

The rainbow chatoyance of these rare pearls is due to a disease called "The Blue Blight" that hit the pearl fields many years ago. The pearls that survived are prized for their depth and color, and this choker shows why.
