"Harmony" is Vibrating Kinetic Sculpture

Her mission is to discover and report any confluences of moving air, gravity, light, angles, and attitudes that are harmonizing to the human spirit. As she quietly turns, she does this, revealing a pleasing new aspect each time you glance at her.

Indoors, hang her anywhere, although a plain background is the most flalttering one. Outdoors, pick a place shielded from high winds. She is made of bronze and is weatherproof, but the wire she depends on is soft copper. So keep eveything civilized.

Her name is Harmony partly because her job is integrating disparete inputs into a harmonious message. But there is another reason, too. The tiny brass balls at her tips make her a tuning fork. A low frequency tuning fork with mismatched legs, which when struck vibrates in the same patterns and modes as the musicians' rigidly geometric ones do, only slower. Both legs will quiver, then only one, then back to the other. Crazy. Watching energy slosh.

"Harmony" is bronze, twelve inches high and eight inches wide. She has been treated with acidified ocean water to create the slightly greenish patina. She hangs from a light copper wire with a little ring at the top..
